About the Artist

When Max and Otto Allard aren’t bickering like brothers, they make some really amazing music together. They play a mix of bluegrass, newgrass, jazz, swing, folk and unclassifiable. They have performed around Chicago at venues such as the Old Town School of Folk Music, Schubas, Wishbone and Uncommon Ground. Max is the winner of the 2018 RockyGrass Banjo Competition and the 2019 FreshGrass Banjo Award. This summer, Max will be heading out on tour with the Minneapolis-based progressive bluegrass band Barbaro.
